Free Hearing Screening with OLLI

Free Hearing Screening with OLLI

Hearing ScreeningDid you attend one too many rock concerts in your youth? If your hearing isn’t what it used to be, we are here to help.

The National Institutes of Health says hearing loss can occur suddenly or gradually and is one of the most common conditions affecting older adults. Approximately one in three people between the ages of 65 and 74 experience hearing loss, and nearly half of those older than 75 have difficulty hearing.

“Having trouble hearing can make it difficult to understand and follow a doctor’s advice, to respond to warnings and to hear doorbells and alarms,” Michelle Girage, program director, said. “It can also make it hard to enjoy talking with friends and family. All of this can be frustrating, embarrassing, and even dangerous.”

Knowing this, the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) is proud to present a free hearing screening here at KSU Center.

Each screening will take approximately 10 minutes per person. Otis A. Whitcomb, from Hear-Rite in Marietta, will be administering the procedures. He has a master’s degree in audiology and is a Georgia Licensed Hearing Aid Dispenser.

The event is free, but registration is required and space is limited. Register early.
