Spring Break Camps are returning for the third year in a row! From April 3-7, kids will have the opportunity to participate in three great programs: Tykes & Bytes LEGO® Robotics, Junior Chefs Academy and Computer Game Design.
“These camps are geared towards fun, educational learning and we offer something for every age group,” Andrea Cochran, camps director, said.
Early elementary students (1st-3rd graders) in Tykes & Bytes LEGO® Robotics will be able to explore the world of simple machines while building and programming incredible structures with LEGO® WeDo.
Junior Chefs Academy will also be open for 4th–6th graders. Students will have the opportunity to work in a full kitchen and prep two recipes daily. As the camp progresses, they will be taught advanced measuring, mixing, cutting, cooking and baking skills. The importance of fresh ingredients and healthy choices will be implemented.
Computer Game Design is open to 7th–12th graders. In this camp, students will learn how to design and modify their own arcade style video games. They will learn to control characters, objects, and increase the difficulty level and add more features. This is a great choice for students with critical thinking skills who enjoy working with computers.
Campers must bring lunch daily. Vending machines are also on site. All youth should dress for comfort and safety.
For those interested, SummerU will begin June 5! Some classes include App Game Design, LEGO® Robotics Engineering and Programming, Adventures in Sculpture, Tiny Chef’s Academy and many more! For more information, visit summeru.com or call 470-578-6765.
