OLLI Masquerade Ball

OLLI Masquerade Ball

Masquerade BallHuman beings are social by nature and social engagement is a vital component of successful aging. Research has indicated that an active social lifestyle is important in helping older adults maintain a sharp mind, remain connected to the world, increase feelings of happiness, and develop a sense of belonging.

OLLI is proud to offer seasonal socials throughout the year for those looking to branch out and mingle. These events are designed to provide an engaging evening of food, fun and entertainment.  The festivities feature live bands, dancing, competitions for prizes and more.

DID YOU KNOW? Older adults with a higher level of social activity are twice as likely to remain free of a disability involving activities of daily living (Rush University Medical Center).

“The combined advantages of active socializing can enhance quality of life and add years to an expected lifespan,” Michelle Girage, program manager, said. “Those attending our socials will be able to make new friends and strengthen existing relationships while they engage in activities they love with others who enjoy the same interests.”
